Parent & Spectator Behaviour
Our Coaches volunteer a huge amount of their time to coach your children. They work hard to come up with plans which the team work on each week.
Parents who interfere with the coaches instructions by calling out from the sidelines only confuses the players on the court and is disrespectful . The only person our players should be able to hear from the sideline is their coach.
Things to remember:
• Don’t criticize the players
• Don’t put your child on a pedestal
• Think about how you are viewed by others
• Celebrate good play
• Encourage the kids and show good sportsmanship for both teams, the coaches, the scorers and the referees.
• Try not to be critical of coaches or referees. Many are volunteers who give their time to make sport possible for all our children, and some are just learning.
If you disagree with or need to discuss an issue with your coach, please schedule a time to talk to them which is not after the game or during training. If it is an issue that cannot be dealt with directly, please contact our President to mediate for you.
If you have feedback about a referee please provide this to your Level Coordinator who will arrange for the feedback to be provided outside of game day.
Remember – Good sideline behaviour by parents sets the right example for your children.
